Colorado; Day 10; July 1, 2012
I had a bit of a surprise this morning when I went out to uncover my motorcycle. The cover was nearly all the way off and the left fairing pocket was open with my flashlight sitting on the instrument panel. Somebody messed with my bike overnight? In talking to the motel clerk about somebody messing with my bike and the surveillance cameras on the parking lot, he informed me that my motorcycle was blown over on its right side in the night. There were very strong winds. He and another motel employee picked it up but did not know who to contact because vehicle information was not provided at check-in. Motorcycle on it’s side twice in one trip – that is a definite first (and last). We rode away from Garden City at 6:30 am. It was cloudy and 68 but a short distance east it dropped to 66. There was standing water in the fields from last night’s storm. The first three to four hours of the ride were cloudy with great temperatures. We turned off of Hwy 156 to ride through Jetmore,
