Coronavirus Tour; Day 3; Nashville, TN
Today we slept in, enjoyed our hotel's complimentary breakfast, and lollygagged around until 11:00, when our shuttle bus transported us from our hotel to downtown Nashville. It was cloudy and 45 degrees.
Our first stop downtown was the Ryman Auditorium. Before leaving on this trip we obtained self-guided tour tickets. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic all shows at the Grand Ole Opry and at Ryman Auditorium were canceled so this is the best we could do. It was well worth the price of admission.
Outside the Ryman Auditorium is a statue of Thomas Ryman, the namesake of this building. The sculptor was the late Steve Shields, who was married to my cousin, Karen (Schechter) Shields. Steve definitely had some skills!

It was 1:00 by the time we left the Ryman so we were hungry and ready for lunch. Carl had read about the famous Nashville Hot (spicy) chicken and he wanted to try some. So we had a LARRAPIN good lunch at the Music City Chicken Company. Carl was the only one of our group that had the hot chicken and he said it was very good. Chris and I had regular fried chicken and Marge had a shrimp po-boy sandwich.
We enjoyed wandering around downtown Nashville, down Broadway, and on the pedestrian bridge over the Cumberland River.
At 4:30 we caught our shuttle bus at 7th and Broadway and we rode back to our hotel. It was a great day though a bit cold when the wind was blowing. We walked 4 miles today!
