Spring Break Ride 2016; Day 1

Carl, Marge, Chris and I are off on our ride through Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas.  At the end of our trip we will attend the wedding of our nephew, Rob in Angleton, TX.

Chris and I met Carl and Marge at their house at 8:30 am and we were off southbound on I-35. There was light rain and it was 50 degrees. After gassing up at the Matfield Green service area of the Kansas Turnpike we continued south to Cassoday. From Cassoday we rode straight west to Newton and then we stopped for lunch at "The Diner" in Hutchinson. It was a good lunch of grilled meatloaf.

After lunch we rode through Langdon, Pratt, Greensburg and Meade on our way to Liberal, Kansas where we stopped for the night.

We rode 404 miles today. It rained lightly for awhile, it was cloudy most of the day and the high temperature was 64. It was very windy (typical for western Kansas) for the last 100 miles or so.

THE END - more tomorrow.
