Northeast or Bust; Day 8

We departed our motel in Hampton, NH at 8:25.  It was 63 degrees and we had clear blue skies.  Another beautiful day!  Gary was leading the tour.

Today we rode Hwy 1 north up the coast.  Just before reaching Maine we came to a draw bridge that was up to let two ships pass underneath.  Since we had to wait a bit I took the opportunity to take a few pictures.DSCN8027

After crossing into Maine we rode to a place along the shore where we could climb around on the rocks.  It was very pretty.IMG_0773

Further north up the coast we found the Nubble Light House on Cape Neddick in York, ME.  It appeared to be a working light house and it was surrounded by water so there was no way tourists could get to it.IMG_0776 (2)

We continued north through Portland and found a Honda motorcycle dealer where Larry bought a replacement cord for his helmet headset.  He’d damaged the pins earlier in the trip by trying to connect it on the move.  In the parking lot Bill dumped his wing – no injury and no damage.  Bill did not display his tuck-and-roll technique this time.  Jamie kind of shifted in her seat and never came off.

We stopped at about 3:30 in Wiscasset, ME at the Wiscasset Motor Lodge.  Chris, Jamie, Bill and I went to do some laundry before going to the Light House Lobster Shack for dinner, where Chris, Jamie and I chowed down on some fresh Maine lobster.DSCN8062

At one point today Larry realized his Goldwing had turned over 100,000 miles – 201 miles earlier!

The high temp today was 75 - beautiful weather.  We rode 142 miles today.
