Wichita

Chris and I were married in 1973. We soon moved to Wichita, where we lived in Wheat Shocker Apartments while I went to school at Wichita State University. Chris was my sugar momma, supporting me while I finished my degree. While living in Wichita we met two couples who became great friends. First we met Joe and Donna and through them we met Steve and Lib.

On Friday, August 4, 2017, Chris and I drove to Wichita to visit with Steve and Lib. Lib tried to arrange a dinner with Joe and Donna but they were not available. On the way there we drove interstate highway all the way, a route we were quite familiar with. Along the way, however, we stopped at a relatively new scenic view area on the turnpike. It was the Bazaar Cattle Pens scenic view area with a view of the Flint Hills.

Friday evening we had a great visit and then on Saturday, August 5, Lib took us on a walking tour of Douglas Street in downtown.

We also drove around WSU where we checked out the new Innovations Campus, had a coffee at Starbucks, and took a few photos.

We topped off the day with a great meal and more time with Steve and Lib.

On Sunday, August 6th, after attending church and going out for lunch, we said our goodbyes and Chris and I returned home. It was a great time with great friends.
