Spring Break; Day 10

It was 38 degrees and sunny when we departed Saint Robert, MO at 9:15.

Carl led us west on the I-44 business route (Google Maps shows it to be part of old Route 66) to neighboring Waynesville, MO, where we went north on Highway 17. This was another beautiful, hilly and curvy route, great for motorcycles and Mustangs alike. Highway 52 took us west and north to Eldon, MO, where we stopped for gas. By this time the temperature had increased to 42. When we left Eldon, however, there was no sun and soon the temperature dropped down to 36. Highway 5 took us north to Tipton, MO, where we caught 50 westbound. The temperature gradually increased to 40 by the time we stopped for lunch at Heroes in downtown Warrensburg. They have LARRAPIN good onion rings.

Highway 50 took us the rest of the way to the Kansas City Area, where the metro area highways got us back home. We arrived at 2:15 and it was 51 degrees.

We drove 209 miles today for a trip total of 2,322 miles. This was a great trip planned by Carl and Marge. They did an excellent job!
